A Military Wedding For Crystal & Michael At Wild Dunes Resort

Every day I thank God for my life and my passion then comes along in many of my wedding photography careers, where I get the special honor and privilege to give a little bit back to our great military men and woman who work so hard to keep this country free.

I have photographed many wedding at the beautiful Wild Dunes Resort, with Samantha Martin, when I received a phone call from a coordinator Jan McBee from Atlanta, who was looking for a fine art photographer in Charleston, Sc for her clients. The minute I found out that they were both Military and that it was at this beautiful venue I accepted the contract with total pleasure.

Crystal & Michael, were so easy to work with, full of life and very down to earth, I photographed their engagement a week before the wedding, then came this special day, it was the perfect day and weather, Ceremony blue sky, the groom and groomsmen wore their uniform, the bridesmaid with dark navy blue dresses, the ceremony was held at the new beach of Wild Dunes The ceremony followed at Palmetto Hall. It was a great wedding and I love giving back, this was a huge honor. Congratulation Crystal & Michael.

Here from the bride is how this day became:
While both were deployed together to Afghanistan with the 172nd Infantry Brigade in 2011-2012, with Crystal working as the Brigade physical therapist for the region, and Michael working as an integral part of the Brigade Support staff. Michael and Crystal didn’t actually meet until a mutual friend, Brian Sullivan, introduced them upon redeployment. Brian instructed Crystal to take care of this new Officer, Michael Sims, who happened to be very handsome and amazing. So in mid-June, Crystal hosted a group of officers to her home for a super yummy home cooked meal. Michael impressed her with his fervent ability to voluntarily wash dishes afterward and entertain her with his great anecdotal stories. They began hanging out with one another and soon it was clear that they were inseparable. Michael did not hesitate to ask Crystal out for their first date to the famous O’Maria Hilfe Berg fest (aka Black plague fest) in Amberg, Germany, where he picked her up in his Bavarian liederhosen and they skipped the 2 mi uphill to the fest. Thus started their relationship and it continued to grow as they adventured throughout Europe to the Alps of Germany and Austria, through Italy and its western and southern shores, Croatia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, the list goes on and on. Michael proposed to Crystal In Garmisch Partenkirschen in the slopes of the Zuegspitze, the highest peak of the Bavarian Alps, where she with great privilege said yes.

I am honored to have met Michael and now am blessed to call him my husband. He is the man that I have prayed for and he perfectly complements me. We consider ourselves very blessed and look forward to what the future holds for us.

We would like to especially thank Michel Berda for capturing our special wedding day and having such patience with an individual who is quite disagreeable to have her picture taken. Michel did a wonderful job and we are appreciative of his kindness and professionalism throughout the process.
