The Grand Ocean Terrace Wedding The Westin Hilton Head Island Lindsay & Zach

The Grand Ocean Terrace at the Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa is the newest addition of luxury wedding venues added to their collection. This incredible southern chic venue features an unobstructed ocean view, with over 5,000.00 square feet, it can accommodate about 220 guest, a full balcony and stone patio with a fireplace, and a bridal dressing room. Back on June 27th, I was honored to be one of the very few wedding photographers that were invited to their Gala of the unveiling of The Grand Ocean Terrace. This night was spectacular including the ribbon cutting of this new venue and it featured wedding vendors from all over the US.

Since I am on their preferred vendor’s list which is a huge honor, I had already booked clients that were having their magical wedding at this beautiful venue.

This is where back on June 21st, 2016, when I received a call from Mrs. Gutta who was looking for a wedding photographer for her daughter’s wedding. We exchanged a couple of emails, Lindsay the bride choose me on that same day. I was so happy and honored. Then in February 2017, I had the pleasure of meeting Lindsay & Zach at my studio. I could see that they were my ideal clients who wanted a seamless wedding and loved my assistance in creating the perfect wedding timeline. When July came around the corner, I had two weddings at this venue booked one on that Friday and the other on that Saturday.

When their wedding day became it was a gorgeous day, and evening, always an elegant wedding affair at The Westin Resort & Spa in Hilton Head, SC. All of the wedding vendors worked perfectly together, the timeline went without any delays, the reception as always a perfect soiree coordinated by the beautiful Ashlee Fleming and her wonderful team that lives by their branding of delivering impeccable service, from everyone flowing smiling faces from their incredible staff. The clients family and friends in awe, and as you can see from my wedding images the perfect reflection of this amazing wedding night and this beautiful venue.

Here is Lindsay and Zach story on how this day became:

Zach and I met on the Beach while working for a summer in Ocean City, MD. We dated long distance for about 3 years while we were attending college. Zach at Clemson University, Lindsay at West Virginia University. Eventually, we moved in together and dated for 7 years before getting engaged.

We got engaged at Filoli Gardens in Woodside, California on 7/12/16 on our 7 year anniversary. Lindsay had just completed the Escape From Alcatraz Triathlon in San Francisco and we decided to stop for a walk on the way home. Zach said in his proposal that he wanted to give me “A rock for escaping from ‘The Rock'”

We chose to get married in Hilton Head since it was my (Lindsay) families home away from home while we were growing up. It was always our go to vacation spot. Zachs parents also lived near by in Isle of Palms so it was an easy choice.

My mom (Karen Gutta) planned our wedding and we called her ‘Events by Karen’ Jo for fun.

The Westin was selected for their new Ocean front venue. Construction had not begun when we reserved the venue.
