A Fabulous Wedding At Lichfield Plantation On 10/18/2014 For Gwen & Mathew.

On this day of Thanksgiving while we are so blessed with being with our family and friends I have dedicated half of my day by posting this wedding for my fantastic clients Gwen & Matthew, who were so very nice to have me capture the most important day, of their life. As I drove from Charleston Sc, after seeing my amazing daughter who had just broken the Mount Pleasant cross country record since 2006, I knew this day would be perfect. It was beautiful, great weather, upon arriving early as I always do, I was able to get a great feel for this plantation that was full of spanish moss with live very old oak trees. Matthew quickly introduced himself and Gwen and her bridesmaid were having a great time getting ready. This venue had the perfect setting, chairs in front of the house for the ceremony, and a tent with yellow tables, chandelier on the trees, the ceremony included their dog walking down the isle, the reception had a great ambiance, lots of great and sad emotion the toast held by Gwen father John, and Matthew brother Graham, who had 3 long pages with lots of humor, while Annie, Gwen Matron of honor finished it with tears of happiness, while the Michael Peifer Band had everybody dancing all very well captured by my heart. Enjoy:

Here in her own words is how this day became from the bride:

Matthew grew up in Los Angeles, I grew up in a small town in Illinois, sounds like a Billy Joel song, I know. He went to college at Washington University in St. Louis around the same time I attended University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. A couple of years went by and on beautiful Saturday afternoon in downtown St. Louis, I stepped out my car in front of my house, and there was my new neighbor, Matt. It was September 6th, 2008 when we met and we have pretty much been hanging out together ever since. Fast forward a couple of years to October 2010 and Matt tells me he has been accepted into the Medical University of South Carolina and he starts in the fall. After much worrying on my part, we packed up a Budget truck and moved here to Charleston in August 2011. We got engaged on December 21, 2012 – why that day you ask, Matthew wanted to do it on the Mayan apocalypse, I married a real romantic. We always wanted to get married in October and in Pawleys Island, SC. We found the perfect venue, the Litchfield Plantation and it was available for October 18th, 2014. I spent most of 2014 planning the best party we were ever going to throw. I was introduced to Michel Berda by a mutual friend, so I knew we would be in good hands with him. I found the wonderful Michael Pfeifer and his band, Baggage Claim, to be our live music and DJ. Jeff and his crew at Carefree Catering in Pawleys Island made planning so nice and easy. Ariana at Eventworks in Myrtle Beach was such a huge help with all of our rentals. Max from Pawleys Island Bakery, Denise from the Greenskeeper Florist, and Wing and Juli from Salon 18 were all so easy to work with, it was fabulous. Kelly Catron was our day-of coordinator and because she helps manage Litchfield Plantation, I knew she was the best person to have there that day since she knew the venue from the inside out. October 18th finally arrived and it was a magical day. It was beautiful weather, all of our plans had fallen into place, our favorite people in the world were there to celebrate with us and at the end of the day, we would be married. We would like to relive that day all over again if we could, see something we did not get to see, eat something we did not get to try, talk to someone we did not get to talk to, or dance to a song we did not get to hear… If nothing else, we can take comfort in knowing will some wonderful memories and some amazing pictures that we can use to relive it anytime we want. Thank you to all of our family, friends, and vendors, you all helped make that day one of the best of our lives!
