In the mid-twentieth century, documentary photography was the way everyone witnessed the events. In today's world, true storytellers use the camera as a tool for their clients and social changes that occur. The art of documenting photography and the accurate representation of its subject is when that moment happens. Real moments unposed telling the story or stories emotions by letting the moment be & let the wedding in most of my cases be while capturing those images with the proper lighting technique, giving the clients the feeling of being very comfortable in front of the camera...While documentary can be a subjective art, not all photographers have the expertise and talent into capturing the timeless moment. You see these images have the most impact on anyone viewing the final image as you see the story and emotion, which plays a major role in that photograph. It is not staged but more about the true moment...This requires the image-maker to have a specific set of skills. This plays a huge role in wedding photography as an image-maker. Yes documenting the day by being a true storyteller requires that artist to be at the right place at the right time. Years if not decades of experience are what this boils down to. Sure weddings have similar moments however, every wedding is different and more importantly, so is every single human. This form of being a documenting wedding photographer is very challenging, it takes those skills and knowledge of using that tool or tools and making sure the image is properly exposed and meaningful...I always gather very important information about my subject and why 99.5% of the time, I set up a phone conference with all of my future wedding clients. Not only do I learn what their needs and vision are for their day, emphasize they're, I learn about them, maybe one cries more than the other, maybe a specific person needs to be addressed there are so many great things you can learn from your wedding clients. All you have to do is try, give them the floor to speak, listen very well to them and their request, and memorize, capture and give them back moments they will never forget...I hope I will be the special chosen one to be that documentary wedding photographer you will give the honor to and the privileged to capture that very special day.
