Dorty and Allen dated for several years before finally deciding to tie the knot, in an intimate ceremony on Easter weekend at Tidewater Chapel in Mount Pleasant, SC on April 7, 2012.

Surrounded by 50 close friends and family, they exchanged vows inside the red-doored-chapel. Classical guitarist Nikolai Svishev played an adagio “Concierto de Aranjuez” accompanying the bride, escorted by her father, down the aisle.

Following the ceremony, guests moved to the courtyard for cocktail hour where they nibbled on a variety of gourmet hors- d’oeuvres and sipped on a signature cocktail created especially for the occasion, the “Love Potion.”

The dinner portion of the evening was held in the Great Room, where guests were treated to a Low-country buffet featuring a seafood display complete with fresh oysters, shrimp and crab legs.

We were all entertained by her husband Allen for quite a great song….!

The romantic black and red table settings were accented by gold chiavari chairs and red floral center pieces displayed in square, green foliage-filled vases. The entire room was lit with votive candles to set the mood for a romantic evening.

The couple said goodbye to friends and family by exiting the venue to a sparkler-perfect send off to Europe (Paris and Rome) where they honeymooned for two weeks.

Neither Jamie or I imagined that our blind date in July 2009 would be the beginning of an amazing new life together. Within a few months we knew it was love and a year later on Christmas Eve, Jamie asked me to marry him.

Here in the bride and the groom words on how this day became so amazing.” Michael, a native of Montana, had been living in the Washington DC metro area for almost two decades, most of that time as a management consultant and then as president of a security services company. Tired of the big city, he yearned for the pleasures of country life, so when he asked Mackenzie, a native Washingtonian and International Development consultant, on a date and offered to teach her how to fly fish, she was intrigued. They hit it off, and as he likes to say – meeting Mackenzie was the best catch he ever made.

A little over a year later they were engaged, and chose their wedding destination to be Bluffton SC – where her parents currently reside. Michael and Mackenzie fell in love with the chapel at Palmetto Bluff and always knew this would be where they married. Here is one of them, I received a phone call from Kristen back in February of this year who was looking for a artistic photographer, that was referred by another bride, Elizabeth & Ollie, she required not just a regular Charleston wedding photographer, her first question was, tell me you have 11/11/11 available.? Thank God I was, as she came in to my studio within the hour and booked my services for her wedding.

Here are in Kristen words how they picked there venue:

“We started discussing possible dates and locations for a fall, Friday wedding, and after viewing a few locations our mutual love of the outdoors and the water lead us to the Carriage House at Magnolia Plantation. I immediately called Jessica Cruz and was thrilled to learn that they still had a Friday evening in November available! Because of the rustic, shabby chic feel of the carriage house, we decided on a theme of “Sophisticated Southern.” With wooden boxes, mason jars and vintage bottles filled with white and ivory flowers, burlap linens, sweetgrass baskets and touches of kelly green, my favorite color, the wedding was everything I envisioned!”

The wedding day was great,On November 11, 2011, just as the sun began to descend, Butch and Kristen were married under the oak trees on the Carriage House Lawn looking out at the Ashley River. The weather was absolutely beautiful, and they could not have imagined a more serendipitous celebration with there family and friends.

Here is how the couple met:

Both being from Charleston, Butch and I met through mutual friends at a pig roast in 2006, while we were both dating other people, but it was not until summer 2010 that we had an opportunity to really get to know each other. Butch and his best friend Ollie are Captain and Mate of a sport fisher, the “Sweet Deal,” and Ollie’s wife, my friend Elizabeth, invited me to drive to Georgetown for Memorial Day weekend to enjoy the festivities of the Georgetown Blue Marlin Tournament. Although we both instantly felt a connection, we decided to build a strong friendship first.

After spending the summer traveling to fishing tournaments with our friends, going on our first official date to The Fat Hen and meeting each others’ families, I knew there was something special and different about Butch and the way he made me feel. He proposed to me after finishing a home-cooked meal on Valentines Day 2011, which was completely unexpected, as I am not a woman who normally celebrates that “holiday.” I have never been so perfectly surprised and elated and will never forget how I felt at that moment.

Michel was fabulous to work with! He was recommended by our friends Elizabeth and Ollie Burwell, and when we first met, he knew I had a very strict budget and did everything possible to make sure I received the best service at a comfortable price. Most importantly, he managed to capture every moment while making it fun! My guests are still talking about how wonderful he is! He is extremely professional and his talent speaks for itself. He is more than our photographer, he is our friend! Butch and I cannot wait to work with him again for family photos in the future. Trust me, you will not regret the decision to hire Michel!

Bjorn and I met in September 2008 after we both started working at Trident Emergency department. He had just moved from Philadelphia and I had just moved from Ohio. After 5 months of working together, we decided to go on a date. We went to Mercato for dinner and had a great time. One date turned into several and it did not take me long to realize that this guy was different than the rest. In August 2010 Bjorn proposed to me on Sullivan’s Island. I can honestly say I have never been so surprised in my entire life, and I will remember that feeling for the rest of my life. Although Bjorn and I are both from the North, we felt Charleston would be the perfect place to get married since this was our new home and the place where we met. Knowing that Charleston is such a hot spot for weddings, we immediately started looking at sites. We decided on Wild Dunes because we loved the idea of being near the beach when we said “I do.” The setting is so beautiful and the wedding coordinator, Samantha Martin, could not be more accomodating. It seemed like the perfect choice, and it was!
On November 12, 2011, Bjorn and I were married on the lawn at Wild Dunes and the reception was at the Grand Pavilion. The weather could not have been better and the sunset was absolutely gorgeous! We could not have asked for a better day to share with all of our closest family and friends.

I was also so happy and honored to have Michel there as our photographer to capture all the moments that we do not want to forget! Even before our wedding day, he offered us two engagement sessions and my bridal portrait. Not only was he punctual, but he was also flexible. Two of our sessions had to be rescheduled due to inclimate weather, and he was more than willing to accomodate us at another time despite his busy schedule. He edited and posted our pictures in a timely fashion and they were fabulous! From one bride to the next, you truly will not regret hiring Michel to capture your special day!

Here is Jaclyn story of how all of this happened.

Zach and I met in September of 2008. He moved to Charleston a few years earlier after college. He said he visited here a few times with friends and said he had to be by the ocean! He grew up in a small town in Union, SC and went to college in Greenwood, SC. He’s very active and loves the outdoors so wanted to be in a bigger city by the water. Thank goodness he did! I grew up in Charleston, went to college here, and love everything about it!
I was in Taco Boy on Folly Beach with some girlfriends having dinner, when up walks this very cute waiter. He was still pretty new in Charleston and working in food and beverage to be close to Folly and meet more people. My girlfriends said “Jaclyn, you have to meet him! You have to go out with him!” Girls will be girls! He came back over to the table and asked for my phone number. I was so embarrassed that my friends put me on the spot like that! He called a few days later and we went on our first date. We met at Nector on James Island and had dinner/drinks. One hour turned into several. Then we came back to my house to watch a movie and he had the idea to bake cookies! So of course we did and burnt them! It certainly is a funny story and great memories. After taking it slow for a few months to make sure that we didn’t jump into anything, we decided to become exclusive. We have been inseparable ever since!
In November of 2010, we decided to take a cruise together. We had not been on that many big vacations together, so we were very excited! I had just earned my Master’s degree in education; he had just had his 30th birthday, and begun managing the restaurant! So, those were perfect reasons to take a vacation! We had to drive to Miami to board the cruise ship. I am high strung and very hyper and Zach is very relaxed and chill. So, I am telling him the whole way there, we have to hurry before we will miss the cruise ship! He detours down to Key Biscayne to see the lighthouse. I had no idea what was going on, but I certainly knew if we kept going in the opposite direction, that we were going to miss the ship! We pulled up to the lighthouse, walk up all 300 stairs, then at the top he says hold on a second while I get my camera. He loves to take pictures and it was beautiful so I didn’t think anything. I turned around to see what the holdup was and he was on one knee holding a ring! I could not breathe for about 2 whole minutes! We didn’t really discuss marriage a whole lot so this was huge! He was so nervous that he forgot his speech and could only think of one line, “Would you spend the rest of your life with me?” I said YES and then proceeded to ask if the ring was real! I didn’t mean to at all, but my nerves were getting the best of me. It was the first thing that came out of my mouth! Well, a year later on November 5th, we were married!
We spent our honeymoon in Mexico and had an amazing time. We are just perfect for each other and balance each other out in every way. We are both very independent people, but without a doubt can never be without each other. We are just that much in love. We have an absolute blast together and I know our future will be full of wonderful memories.

Tonia had spoken to many photographer and that this wedding required not just a regular Charleston wedding photographer but a artiste, a business man, a historian, one that had more then just the passion for the art. Say no more I replied, the minute I got off the phone with her, Trevis & Tonia where in my studio signing a contract.

Here are in Tonia words are how the couple became one: February 6, 2005 is the day Trevis and I first laid eyes on one another while at a social gathering in downtown Charleston. Ever since it has been a whirling romance that has encapsulated cherished memories and proved that true love oversees all. We both enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, partaking in Charleston’s endless dining experiences, and mostly importantly snuggling at home. Although our lengthy relationship, nearly six years, I was still flabbergasted when Trevis popped the BIG QUESTION on Christmas Eve 2010. The proposal was very intimate, which was in the comfort of our home. My first phone call was to my parents, whom to my surprise already knew about the upcoming engagement and happily gave Trevis their blessings.

I thought for sure the wedding plan would be hectic with our schedule, Trevis, a residential contractor and myself an oncology nurse at MUSC. But once I decided on a theme, something simple, elegant and timeless, everything fell into place. Magnolias, has always been a favorite of mine so it became a mainstay with our wedding. From our engagement party at Magnolia’s restaurant off East Bay, to our save the date- scented Magnolia sachets, and our reception at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. Our relationship and now our marriage, is summed up in our First Dance song, “At Last” by Etta James!!!!
